Canadian immigration: frequently asked questions
Do I need an immigration consultant to apply?
No. You can apply directly to IRCC. Many people hire a licensed representative to avoid mistakes, choose the right program and save time, especially for complex cases or after a refusal.
What is an RCIC?
A Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant is licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). Only RCICs, Canadian lawyers and Quebec notaries may legally charge for Canadian immigration advice.
How do I check if a consultant is licensed?
Search their name or licence number (an R followed by six digits) on the CICC public register. Be careful with anyone who cannot give you a licence number. Your Innova consultant’s licence number is included in your service agreement.
Is the first evaluation really free?
Yes. Our online evaluation is free and without obligation. We review your answers and tell you which pathways may fit you.
Can you help me if I live outside Canada?
Yes. Many of our clients live abroad. We work by video call, WhatsApp and email, and applications are submitted online. Clients in Toronto can also visit our North York office.
How long does immigration to Canada take?
It depends on the program and your situation. IRCC publishes current processing times for each application type. We give you a realistic timeline for your plan.
Which language test should I take?
For English, IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General or PTE Core are accepted for economic immigration. For French, TEF Canada or TCF Canada. Strong French can significantly increase your chances.
How much money do I need to immigrate?
It depends on the program. Many Express Entry candidates must show settlement funds, and students must show tuition and living costs. We list the exact requirements for your case.
Do you guarantee approval?
No, and no honest professional can. Only IRCC decides. What we guarantee is careful, complete and honest work on your file.
