Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
Get nominated by a province such as Ontario, BC or Alberta, then apply for PR.
Reviewed by a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (licensed by the CICC)Last updated:
Most Canadian provinces and territories run their own Provincial Nominee Program to select immigrants who meet local labour-market needs. A provincial nomination can open the door to permanent residence, including for people whose Express Entry score is not yet high enough.
Each province has several streams with their own rules, such as streams for employer job offers, international graduates or in-demand occupations, and they change often. We track them so you don’t have to.
Who it’s for
- Workers with a job offer from an employer in a Canadian province
- International graduates of Canadian colleges and universities
- Express Entry candidates looking to increase their chances
- People with experience in occupations a province is targeting
How we help
- Matching your profile to the provinces and streams that fit you
- Expressions of interest and provincial applications
- Employer and job-offer documentation review
- Federal PR application after your nomination
Frequently asked questions
Is a provincial nomination a guarantee of PR?
No. A nomination adds strong support to your case, but you still need to apply to IRCC for permanent residence and meet medical, security and admissibility requirements.
Do I have to live in the province that nominates me?
Yes. Provinces nominate people who genuinely intend to live and work there, and you should plan to settle in that province.
We never guarantee approvals. Only Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) makes decisions on applications.
